by Mary GouletIve long been a supporter of the Virtual Assistance Industry. I first heard of it while hosting my Internet talk radio show for entrepreneursI thought Brilliant, what a great idea. Heres whymany of us have varied work experience and coupled with our innate talents, skills and interestsbeing a Virtual Assistant is the perfect career to marry all of the above and make a living. And if you throw a bit of inspiration into the mix, youve got an entrepreneur. I support the VA industry and want them to grow because I believe each one of us has something unique that enables us to be of service to others. That uniqueness, when expressed, is a blessing to us as it is for those we serve. Being a VA is a form of creative and entrepreneurial freedom to do the work you do well and enjoy while benefiting others. Each VA has the opportunity to create their business the way they want it to be. To work on the types of projects they most enjoy while filling a need. Not everyone is skilled in all areas and niche marketing fits the model of a Virtual Assistant beautifully. Now that the industry is growing and there are associations supporting their members with conferences, training courses, and newsletters; this industry has my vote for being the most innovative, entrepreneurial opportunity for stay-at-home moms (and dads!), creative independent types, and seasoned corporate employees looking to hang a shingle.
